Big Sky Historic Sites & Interpretive Centres
The Historic Crail Ranch is Big Sky's original homestead. The unique log building is now open to visitors to wander through, while learning about the Frank Crail family in Big Sky in the early 1900s.
Karst’s Camp was originally a dude ranch that was founded in 1901 by Pete Karst, but today it is a ghost town. At one time, Karst ran a successful resort with 25 cabins, a bar and a brothel. The original cabins are still standing and are occupied today but the ski lift and the camp no longer exists. However, visitors can venture to the old asbestos mine.
